The Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) will be hosting the 12th Annual Air Quality Governance Lekgotla from 2 - 3 October 2017 at the CedarWoods Hotel in Woodmead, Gauteng. The Lekgotla is an event for intergovernmental coordination and cooperation with respect to South Africa’s air quality management. The Lekgotla provides a platform where government officials from all spheres of government gather to discuss progress made in the implementation of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004 (Act No. 39 of 2004) (AQA). In addition, the Lekgotla provides an opportunity for government officials to share experiences, best practices and to agree on possible solutions/mechanisms in addressing common challenges – faced by government in air quality management, and to plan ahead.
The DEA invites all government officials in national, provincial and local government departments working in air quality management to participate. Air Quality Officials who wish to present at the Air Quality Governance Lekgotla should forward their presentation information to Ms Agnes Makau at firstname.lastname@example.org before 31 July 2017.

The Air Quality Governance Lekgotla will be followed by the Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on 4 October 2017 in which various air quality management stakeholders participate to discuss issues of common interest. The topics for the workshops will be announced before 31 July 2017.
